James Serrano / United States
“My name is James, 65 years old as a senior gay man not everything is sunshine, many clouds follow me around but thanks to the love and understanding of my parents, my family, and good friends I am able to survive attitudes and situations. Allow me to say it’s good to receive benefits when you are a senior but it’s a hurting feeling when you always get the same answer, no not yet, waiting for appointment for the interview, talking about housing. As an independent senior it’s a must to be on your own, especially if you are thriving. I know that housing has go through protocol, but how long? That why I’m grateful for the love of my parents, my cousins Yvonne /Martha and Olga my nieces Stephanie, Sandy, Venece and Teresa, my nephews Isaac and Ray J, and all the rest of my family for giving me the love and strength to continue living as a senior gay man.”
