“About the only benefit to being in a relatively quiet town is that there’s not a huge chance of getting into trouble for being queer because nothing really happens here.. No real community. or resources, or social services, or anything: I had to leave that all behind when visa reasons made me leave the US back to malaysia. even if i wanted to be out and proud, who would listen? especially to someone who is a racial minority with mental health issues? I can’t wait to get out of here, to be free to be me again.”
