Shivam / India
“Hi, I’m Shivam from India. I’m gay and proud of it. There’s nothing that I would change about myself. But my country and my parents would never agree to that. Where homosexuality is a crime in India and on the other hand if do tell my parents about me, especially my dad, he’ll kill me. No doubts. I had an abusive childhood, filled with broken bones and bleeding nose since I was little kid. I have been beaten to the ground by my own dad for petty things such as being clumsy as a kid. So, if I do tell him you get the picture.
I’m not afraid of him, but I’m scared for my life. I’m who I am. Don’t want to change anything about me and wants to live.
This me raising my voice against stupid prejudices against love.”
be who you are, that’s what makes you happy… we had the same childhood time…
My partner is from India and I am from Canada. As an out and open Candian It’s difficult to understand the problems he may face if he comes out to his family. I hope that one day he can gain the courage to reveal himself to them and that they will accept him… and me too
Dont let anyone determine who to love, be yourself, I am gay too and I love it that way, I come from a very homophobic family but I wont let them rule my life..I am the driver of my own life.
