“this is me in the spanish parliament, which approved the law for same sex marriage in 2005, being my country the 3rd in the world.

When I was a young kid, I had my own hobbies different to the rest of the kids, and some of them called me gay in a bad way like ‘fag’. During my puberty some of them too, because my interests were different. i came out with my friends this year, and i was surprised about how gentle and fine they were with me. this has been a complicated topic in my life, since i knew who i was. but my friends always treated me with respect and love.

Last year, before I came out, I was in a big depression, and I went to the psychologist. She told me that it could be because of getting my deepest thoughts inside. Then, this year, I came out and the depression went out. I don’t know if that was the reason, but I’m sure it helped me to stand up again and see the life as it should be, not as it is. But there’s a bit of something, people for everything. Some of them, when I went out, saw me differently and didn’t want to stay with me. But I’m fine, I’m proud of being who I am now, and I wouldn’t change anything.

i’m very proud of living in spain, a full tolerant country, and i support all lgbt people who are being prosecuted for being what they want to be, free. free to love, free to live. to all this people i say: ‘do not never give up, don’t be afraid, love is the most important thing in the world and no one can tell you what it is love’. courage, things will change and i’m sure every single country will move forward to do what is fair and correct. greetings from spain, be brave, juanjo”
